Are you for real? Web 2point2?

Hell yeah we're for real. The thing is, it is fine and dandy for people to charge whatever they want for an event. I have seen Pearl Jam for $30 bucks and I have paid several hundred. We just see a need to bring people together to learn from each other, and the ability of people to pay a lot of money does not necessarily equate to the value they bring to the conversation, so let's make it work where and when we can for a reasonable amount of money.

I thought you hated the term Web 2.0?

Yeppers. Sure do. It is a terrible disservice to what is really happening, but people use the term, so we are kind of forced to do so. Kind of like "Podcast" - no matter what you want to call it now, the "Camel's nose is in the tent" on that one. So instead of honoring it, we mock it a bit. Makes me feel better about having to live with that other term, the version of the Web that came before 2.01 and after 1.99

Will you be spamming us?

Ummmm, No - but we will send you a couple of emails with important details in the time leading up to the event as well as an email about any last minute changes. We will also send you a followup email at some point after the event. If you want to receive more information from us at that time on other events, you can opt in to the list.
